PROTECTING WOMEN FROM HARASSMENT AND VIOLENCE AND ENHANCING THEIR ROLE IN SOCIETY

Abstract

The protection of the rights of women subjected to violence is an important and pressing problem in many countries, including the Republic of Uzbekistan. In this regard, most countries have legal mechanisms aimed at protecting victims of violence and bringing perpetrators to justice. One of the fundamental documents in the field of protecting women from domestic violence is the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. The article analyzes the special legal acts adopted by our country in pursuance of the above-mentioned Convention, which have played a key role in creating legal conditions for the protection of women’s rights and the detection and prevention of violence or the threat of violence against women. Special attention is paid to the possibilities of integrating women who have experienced violence into economic and social life. The article analyzes the main directions of state policy in the field of protection of women from harassment and violence, detection and prevention of violence against them, as well as legal support for the rehabilitation of women who have experienced violence and providing them with opportunities for integration into the business environment and society.
