Iogann Volfgang Gyote ota tomonidan ham, ona tarafidan ham Frankfurtdagi mashhur huquqshunoslar sulolasi davomchisi boʻlgan. Uning faoliyati ham universitet tahsilidan boshlab huquqshunoslik bilan bogʻliq kechgan. Garchi adib hayotining asosiy qismini huquq sohasida xizmat qilib oʻtkazgan boʻlsa-da, u adabiyot, badiiy ijod ortidan shuhrat choʻqqisiga koʻtarildi. Gyote oʻz asarlarida adabiy-estetik, diniy-falsafiy qarashlar bilan birga siyosiy, ijtimoiy, huquqiy muammolarni ham keng yoritgan. Uning sheʼriyati poeziya va huquq uygʻunligining yuksak namunasi boʻlib, adibning sheʼr va dramalarida haq va haqiqat, hurlik, ozodlik va uning inson qismatidagi oʻrni haqida keng bahs yuritilgan. Shuningdek, uning yirik hajmli romanlarida inson va jamiyat munosabatlari boricha qalamga olingan. Gyotening ilk ijod namunasi hisoblangan “Yosh Verterning iztiroblari” asarida ham bu qarashlar oʻziga xos aks ettirilgan. Ularda yosh Gyote har qanday qogʻoz, qonun va qoidalardan ustun qalb haqiqati mavjudligi, insoniy adolat jamiyat aʼzolari tomonidan yozilgan qonun-qoidalardan yuqori turishini eʼtirof etgan. Maqolada shu xususda soʻz yuritilib, asar tahlili asosida Gyotening huquqiy qarashlari tadqiq etilgan.
