The article deals with the issue of the legal force of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The supreme legal force of the constitution is a special legal property that distinguishes it from other acts. It lies in the fact that the norms of the Constitution always take precedence over the provisions of other laws, and even more so acts of executive power; laws and by-laws must be adopted by the bodies provided for in the Constitution and in accordance with the procedure established by it; if a law conflicts with the Constitution, it is either repealed or brought into line with it. The Basic Law of our country has the highest legal force and direct effect and is applied throughout the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan. And it is this provision that indicates that constitutional norms can be used for real legal application. The direct effect of the Constitution is the ability to directly regulate legal relations and resolve cases in courts based on constitutional provisions and norms. In the conditions of modern reality, any constitution must have one inalienable quality – direct action.
