Abstract

This article is dedicated to a comprehensive legal study of digitalization and artificial intelligence in the environmental law of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The work analyzes regulatory legal sources governing the relevant sphere of social relations, including the legal foundations for applying digital technologies and artificial intelligence in environmental law. The provisions of environmental legislation, as well as the Land and Water Codes of various states, have been compared, and similarities and differences in approaches to regulating this institution have been identified. Particular attention is paid to the place and role of environmental law in a broad context, as environmental law represents a set of rules for interaction between humans and nature, as well as ensuring survival in the context of a global world. It has been established that in the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, there is a more detailed regulation of individual mechanisms for the interaction of digitalization and artificial intelligence in environmental law. It emphasizes that artificial intelligence allows for the effective collection, analysis, and interpretation of data, thereby improving understanding of biodiversity, climate change, and the state of ecosystems. It allows for the identification of patterns, forecasting, and justification of strategies for environmental conservation. At the same time, proposals are being analyzed regarding the role of an integrated approach in forming a holistic understanding of ecological systems and creating artificial intelligence applications for the benefit of both biodiversity and human well-being. The study relies on comparative legal and systematic methods, incorporating regulatory acts, international agreements, and analytical materials. The obtained results can be used in the preparation of regulatory legal acts, the development of legislative initiatives, as well as in law enforcement practice.
