CRIMINOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND SIGNS OF THE PERSONALITY OF A JUVENILE OFFENDER

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the criminological characteristics of a juvenile offender and issues related to its systemic characteristics. The results of a social survey, industry statistics, and court practice materials were widely used in the research process. The author identifies the criteria that distinguish the phenomenon of a juvenile offender from the concept of a criminal subject, and reveals its biophysiological, socio-demographic, psychological, and spiritual-moral status. In particular, the importance of the inner world, worldview, attitude to values, and social status of juveniles in their criminological characteristics is substantiated. In addition, the article analyzes the criminological characteristics of a juvenile offender and issues related to measures to prevent these crimes based on the experience of foreign countries. The research uses methods such as a functional approach, logic, systematicity, historical, comparative legal, statistical, and sociological surveys. The conclusion summarizes scientific views in the field and puts forward the author’s recommendations aimed at improving measures to prevent crime among minors.
