CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CONTRACTUAL FRAMEWORK FOR PAYMENTS USING STABLECOINS

This article analyzes the contractual and legal frameworks of payment relations carried out through stablecoins. The widespread use of stablecoins as a means of payment in the digital economy necessitates a review of the content and mechanisms of the legal relations associated with them. The study examines the legal nature of stablecoins, the role of smart contracts in executing settlements through them, and their significance in automating contractual relations. The author analyzes the main approaches formed in foreign legal doctrine regarding the concept of a smart contract, evaluating their advantages and disadvantages. According to the research results, it is substantiated that a smart contract should be evaluated not merely as a self-executing software mechanism, but as a civil-law construction that creates rights and obligations in a digital environment and ensures automated execution; additionally, conclusions are formulated for improving contract law amidst the development of digital payment infrastructure.
